Wondering what to do in St. Ignace, Michigan this fall? We’ve got you covered. From enjoying the annual Fall Festival to hiking up Castle Rock, check out this list of the best things to do in St. Ignace this fall season.

Fall Festival & Great Pumpkin Roll

Despite COVID-19, St. Ignace’s Fall Festival and Great Pumpkin Roll is going forward in 2020! The event will take place on Saturday, October 3, 2020 between 12:00 pm and 5:00 pm. For those visiting the area, the Fall Festival and Great Pumpkin Roll is an annual event beloved by the town. This autumn extravaganza features hay rides, face painting, a petting zoo, a pumpkin patch, and plenty of family-friendly crafts. But best of all, it also includes the Great Pumpkin Roll, where local townspeople roll their pumpkins down a hill. It’s a historical tradition that is fun for the whole family.

Hike Up Castle Rock

If you’re new to St. Ignace, then there is no better place to get the lay of the land than at Castle Rock. This unique geological formation provides a bird’s eye view of the city, 195 feet above water level. The rock officially became a tourist attraction in 1929 and has remained one to this day. It is located just three miles north of St. Ignace, making it an easy drive from the Harbour Pointe Hotel. From the top, there is a lookout point that allows you to see much of the city, surrounding forest, and even the bay.

Golf at St Ignace Golf & Country Club

Opened in 1927, the St. Ignace Golf & Country Club is a town institution. This course overlooks the Straits of Mackinac and the Mackinac Bridge, making it one of the most scenic courses in the state of Michigan. The course is only 9 holes, which is perfect for a short round in the cooler fall weather. Despite its shorter length, it is still quite challenging, which makes it all the more fun. Walk-ons and casual golf attire are both welcome at this unpretentious St. Ignace golf course.
